LOCAL HISTORY
Our chapter’s local history includes Derby and Shelton, Connecticut, and other surrounding towns.

The city of Shelton, formerly known as Huntington, was incorporated as a town in 1789 from Stratford. Shelton was incorporated as a city in 1919.

Comprised of approximately thirty-one point four square miles in Fairfield County, Shelton’s northwest boundary is the Housatonic River.
