The Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter meets eight times each year, beginning in August through May. There are no chapter meetings in January, February, June, and July. Our meetings are held at the Shelton Community Center on the third Saturday of the month; they may be held at other locations to celebrate special occasions.
Members recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the Preamble to the Constitution, and the American’s Creed at each chapter meeting.
We feature –
- a Constitution moment – highlighting important facts about our nation’s Constitution
- an American Indian moment – denoting the importance of American Indians in our general history and culture
- a Flag of the United States moment to promote a deep, patriotic respect for our flag and
- a Women’s Issues moment that focuses on issues concerning women today in the United States.
In preparation for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, our chapter has a Patriot moment, during which we highlight the story of one of our Revolutionary War patriots. Short programs often follow the business portion of our meetings.
For more information on any of these meetings, please use our contact form, or email our registrar.
